Ordering & Delivery

Great customer service is at the heart of all things Chunk. Here’s everything you need to know about how to order, delivery and our packaging. Full delivery details are below but here are the most important things to know if you just want to get on with it and get your order placed.

  1. Delivery days are Tuesday to Friday only to ensure products arrive fully frozen.
    Orders placed before 12pm on a working day can be sent for the next available delivery date.
  2. You must choose a delivery date at checkout, and someone should ideally be home to receive it.
  3. Minimum order value is £35; delivery is free over £45, otherwise £5.95.
  4. Frozen parcels must be delivered on the first attempt - they cannot be returned to a depot or rescheduled safely.
  5. Do not reschedule delivery via the courier app, as delays may lead to the parcel being disposed of with no refund.
  6. Your order arrives frozen, packed with insulated liners and dry ice. Products must be placed straight in the freezer as soon as possible.
  7. Chunk delivers to most of mainland UK, but some regions (e.g., islands, certain Highland areas) are excluded. Please see below for a full list of postcodes we are unable to deliver to.
  8. After delivery to your address or safe place, responsibility for storage and product condition passes to you.
  9. If anything is wrong with your order, you must contact Chunk within 24 hours with your order number, photo, and description of the issue.

Delivery Days

Unfortunately we are unable to deliver on:

  • Mondays
  • Weekends
  • Bank Holidays

Why’s this? Simply because our goal is always to deliver your products quickly to ensure they remain frozen when they arrive with you and these delivery days ensure that we can meet this goal. You can specify a delivery date when you check out on the site.

Cut-Off Times

Orders placed before 12pm (midday) on a working day can be shipped for the next available delivery date (subject to capacity).

Orders placed after 12pm, or on weekends or Bank Holidays, are processed the next working day.

Need to plan ahead? No problem! Simply choose a delivery date a little further down the line when ordering and leave the rest to us!

Choosing Your Delivery Date

When ordering online, you can choose your preferred delivery date at the checkout. We pack and ship your order to arrive on that day, subject to the usual conditions of courier transit.

We strongly recommend choosing a date when someone will be home in order to ensure delivery.

How to Order

Whether you choose Chunk Original, Chunk Gluten Free or a mix or both, ordering is straightforward.

  • Before adding items to your basket, you will be asked to enter your delivery postcode to check we can get your order to your area overnight to ensure freshness. See below for a full list of postcodes where we are unfortunately unable to deliver.
  • Add any products you like from our awesome ranges of savoury and sweet bakes. Minimum order value is £35 as sadly we cannot deliver economically for orders below this value.
  • Add any notes to your order when reviewing your basket. If your address is particularly remote or hard to find, a What 3 Words reference can really help the delivery driver!
  • Proceed to the checkout where you will be asked to select your preferred delivery date
  • Complete your order and leave the rest to us!
What happens next?
  • You will receive email confirmation when you place your order and an additional message from our couriers to let you know it’s on its way. Please lookout for this

All orders are shipped frozen from our bakeries using specialist packaging and dry ice. This keeps your food in perfect condition from the moment it leaves us to the moment it reaches you.

  • Chunk Original Products are delivered wrapped, unbaked and frozen for that “first bake” flavour and the deep sense of satisfaction that comes from baking at home.
  • Chunk Gluten Free Products are delivered wrapped, baked and frozen.
  • All products should be placed in the freezer immediately upon receipt and can be stored frozen for up to 6 months. However, we can guarantee they wont be there for that long!

How We Deliver

We work with a national courier partner experienced in handling time-sensitive, perishable goods.
Once your parcel is collected, you’ll receive tracking details so you can follow its progress. We recommend you download the DPD App for easier tracking.

Frozen Shipping & Dry Ice

Your order will be packed using:

  • Specialist insulated packaging – Food safe cardboard box with recycled denim liners for insulation. 
  • Dry ice to keep contents frozen during transit

What to expect upon delivery:

  • Your parcel may feel cold on the outside of the box. This is perfectly normal
  • Any remaining dry ice will continue to evaporate naturally
  • If dry ice is still visible, avoid touching it directly
  • Handling instructions are printed on every box

When your order arrives:

  • Transfer everything to your freezer as soon as possible
  • Follow the storage and cooking guidance on the product labels. Always cook from frozen for best results
  • Dispose of dry ice as per the instructions on your parcel.

How Much Is Delivery?

  • Minimum order value is £35 as sadly we cannot deliver economically for orders below this value.
  •  Delivery is FREE on all orders over £45

If You Aren't Home

Frozen parcels must be delivered on the first attempt. They cannot be returned to depot or redelivered safely owing to the perishable nature of Chunk products.

If you’re not in, the courier may:

  • Leave the parcel in a safe place
  • Leave it with a neighbour

Please ensure any safe-place instructions are appropriate for a frozen delivery. Specific delivery instructions can be added when checking out on our website.

DO NOT RESCHEDULE VIA THE COURIER APP (Sorry to shout but this is important)

Please do not use the courier’s app, website or tracking portal to reschedule delivery to a later date.

Chunk products are delivered frozen owing to their perishable nature. Delaying delivery may cause the courier to dispose of your parcel for safety reasons.

If this happens because the delivery date is changed through the courier’s system, we are unable to refund or replace the order.

Risk Passes on Delivery

The order becomes the responsibility of the recipient once it is:

  • Delivered to the address you provided, or
  • Placed in the safe place you instructed

This includes:

  • Bringing the parcel indoors promptly
  • Storing items correctly
  • Preventing spoilage from delayed collection

How Your Order Arrives

Inside the parcel you’ll find:

  • Individually packed frozen products
  • Insulated denim liners. Recyclable and biodegradable
  • Dry ice. The most effective way to keep your order frozen
  • Handling instructions

Our packaging system has been thoroughly tested to keep your food frozen and protected throughout its journey and ready to transfer to your freezer upon receipt.

If There's a Problem

If something isn’t right when your box arrives, please contact us at hunks@takeachunk.co.uk within 24 hours and be sure to include:

  • Your order number
  • A photo of the issue
  • A brief description of what happened

We’ll investigate and offer a suitable resolution.
