What’s the difference between Chunk Original and Chunk Gluten Free?
Chunk Original is where it all began. Our Ottery St Mary bakery makes proper pies, pasties and savouries the traditional way. These products contain gluten.
Chunk Gluten Free (formerly Baked to Taste) is our fully dedicated gluten-free bakery in Honiton, creating gluten-free pies, pasties, cakes and quiches with absolutely no compromise on flavour.
Are Chunk Gluten Free products safe for people with coeliac disease?
Yes. Completely.
All Chunk Gluten Free products are made in a dedicated, SALSA-accredited bakery that handles no gluten at all. Everything is produced using gluten-free-only equipment by a trained team, making them suitable for people with coeliac disease.
Can I order Chunk Original and Chunk Gluten Free products together?
You can. Mix and match as you like across both ranges
All products are made and wrapped in their respective bakeries before being shipped together, so there is no risk of cross-contamination.
How do you prevent cross-contamination between gluten and gluten-free products?
A wipe down simply doesn't cut it! We keep things completely separate... 7 miles of separation to be precise!
Unlike others who claim to make gluten free food in facilities that also handle gluten, Chunk Original and Chunk Gluten Free are made in different bakeries, by different teams, using dedicated equipment.
Products are wrapped at source and segregation is tightly controlled and regularly audited.
Where are your products made?
All our baking is done right here in Devon with a hands on approach that has won us hundreds of awards.
Chunk Original products are made in Ottery St Mary.
Chunk Gluten Free products are made in Honiton, in our fully dedicated gluten-free bakery.
Are ingredients and allergens clearly listed?
Always!
Every product page and every pack clearly lists ingredients and allergens, with allergens highlighted in bold. No guesswork and no vague statements, just clear, honest information so you can choose with confidence.
