We keep our information honest, accurate and up to date. No guesswork, no vague statements, no hidden details.

Chunk Original (Ottery St. Mary)
Our original Devon bakery produces our traditional range of pies, pasties and savouries. Chunk Original products contain gluten and are NOT suitable for people with coeliac disease.
Chunk Gluten Free (Honiton)
- A dedicated and fully separate gluten-free bakery producing:
- Pies
- Pasties
- Cakes
- Quiches
- Pastry and baking ingredients for home use
All products from this bakery are made in an environment that handles no gluten at all. Our bakery is audited regularly to maintain accreditation
Allergen Information
We follow a simple rule across both bakeries in line with UK legislation for declaring of allergens and food labelling.
All allergens are declared clearly on product pages and on packaging. This includes all 14 major UK allergens:
- Celery
- Crustaceans
- Eggs
- Fish
- Gluten
- Lupin
- Molluscs
- Milk
- Mustard
- Nuts
- Peanuts
- Sesame Seeds
- Soya
- Sulphites
If an allergen is present, it will be stated. In BOLD BLOCK CAPITALS both within the product ingredients listed on this website as well as the product packaging.
If a product is made in an environment where an allergen is handled, this will also be stated.
Ingredient Standards
Chunk Original and Chunk Gluten Free - We believe:
- Straightforward, honest ingredients. Nothing is added without purpose.
- No GM ingredients.
- Ingredients sourced from trusted suppliers. Meat, dairy and vegetables are sourced from West Country suppliers wherever possible. Please note that certain Gluten Free ingredients are trickier to source in Devon and may come from further afield
- Full traceability from supplier to finished product.
- All products made to controlled recipes to ensure accurate nutritional and allergen information.
Nutritional Information
Each product page on this website and all product packaging will include the following information per 100g:
- Energy (kJ / kcal)
- Fat (including saturates)
- Carbohydrate (including sugars)
- Protein
- Fibre
- Salt
Values are based on the finished product and calculated using supplier data, extensive recipe analysis and batch testing where appropriate.

Gluten Free Products
All Chunk Gluten Free items are:
- Made in a dedicated SALSA accredited bakery that only handles gluten and wheat free products
- Produced on equipment used only for gluten-free ingredients
- Made by a trained team following strict segregation and hygiene controls
Tested and validated to meet gluten-free standards
They are suitable for people following a gluten free diet as well as those with coeliac disease
Chunk Original products are made in a separate bakery and will contain gluten.
Items are individually wrapped in their respective bakeries so there is no risk of cross contamination.
Vegetarian, Vegan & Other Dietary Needs
Where products are suitable for specific diets such as vegetarian, vegan or dairy-free, etc, this will be clearly labelled on product packaging and highlighted on the website.
