Breaking News- We’re Award Winners!

We’ve just struck gold and silver at this year’s Food Drink Devon Awards, and we are buzzing about it 🐝🏆Last Monday we accepted 7 more awards into our growing collection of over 300 (yes, 300!) and are proud to say we’re struggling for the space to hang them!

Our Biggest Winners of the Year

If that mouth-watering list somehow didn’t get your stomach rumbling, let’s look back at this year’s pie award season! To properly celebrate another epic year for our Chunk hunks and their biggest hitters throughout the year, here are some of the awards we’re most proud of👨‍🍳✨

January

In January we hit the ground running when the Veggie Awards announced we had won the gold for our Ruby Murray Pasty🍴Bursting with flavour, this blend of veggies, fragrant curry spices, and golden pastry left everyone wanting more!

March

March had us heading to the British Pie Awards where we won two silver medals for our delicious Duckin’ Pie and legendary Steak Pasty!
Casting our minds back to January, the Duckin' Pie, inspired by Chinese New Year, was a right quacker🦆 With its tender yet indulgent slow-cooked duck, and stir fried veg combined with aromatic spices, it's no wonder it's so celebrated!!
But that's not all - our classic Steak Pasty also soared for silver – no surprises there!  You really can't top this timeless classic, with meaty filling encased in our signature shortcrust pastry always rising to the top of the podium!!
 

April 

In April our Steak Pasty and Duckin’ Pie once again smashed all our expectations by winning Gold at the Taste of the West Awards!
As you might've guessed these weren't our only champions of the night, though, because bagging another gold was our Ruby Murray Pasty. This veggie bake has continued to blow away judges and has definitely earned itself a spot as a certified favourite!
 And it doesn't end there - our Pigs in Blankets Pie also brought home the bacon (pun intended!)🐖 A Christmas classic, its combination of succulent pork sausages, crispy bacon, and buttery pastry made it a real cut above the rest. 
Whilst they may have not taken home the gold, our limited-edition Venison & Port Pie and Cluckin’ Curry Pasty  snagged second place trophies at the awards too🥈 Their striking and unforgettable flavours made them an absolute a hit with both the judges and the Chunk kitchen!
Chef Marc’s mind-blowing Smokin’ Brisket Pie also bagged the coveted Commended award. With its smoky undertones and brisket so tender it melts in your mouth, it smoked out the competition and grabbed our 7th and final win of the night!
 

July

Then in July we saw two of our own winning big prizes at the Great Taste Awards- otherwise known as the Oscars for Foodies! Making waves with multiple awards to its name, our Smokin' Brisket Pie won big here, too.
And finally, have a guess who our other winner of the night was… that’s right, our Steak Pasty!! The star of every judging panel of 2024, this win marked the pasty’s place in history with its 15th Great Taste Award in a row 🤯
