...And Why We Support It, Chunk Style!!
When it comes to important causes in Devon, Hospiscare is right up there at the top!!
They provide incredibly crucial end-of-life care for people facing serious illness, making sure they get the comfort, dignity, and support they deserve.
It’s heavy stuff - but their work genuinely changes lives, and we know how much it means to so many local families (including ours at Chunk HQ)!
That’s exactly why we’ve been proudly supporting the Hospiscare Men’s Walk in Exeter for six years running – and why we’ll keep doing it as long as they’ll have us!! 😁
What’s the Men’s Walk All About?
Picture this: Hundreds of guys (and some gals), all ages, lacing up their walking boots, pulling on their Men's Walk t-shirts, and marching through Exeter for a great cause...
That’s the Hospiscare Men’s Walk in a nutshell! 🚶
It’s a 7-mile stomp, starting and finishing at the Double Locks pub, where walkers raise money, share stories, and most importantly… celebrate with a well-earned Chunk pasty and a pint from Exeter brewery with a Six Nations match on the telly!! 🍻
🎊 This year’s walk? Saturday, 15th March 2025! 🎊
It’s a mix of remembrance, community, and good old-fashioned camaraderie. Some take part to honour loved ones, some just to support a fantastic charity – but everyone comes together to make a real difference.
And that's why we're absolutely obsessed with it 😄
Why Chunk Backs It (and Fuels It!)
We might be making pies and pasties all the time, but we’re not just about food! Community is everything to us 😁
And when we saw how much this event means to Devon – we knew we had to get involved 💪
So, for six years, we’ve been handing out hundreds of free Chunk pasties at the finish line, because if you’ve just walked 7 miles for charity, you deserve proper fuel!
Steak pasty in one hand, pint in the other – that’s how you celebrate a walk well done 🎉
We love seeing the mix of emotions at the end of the walk – the sense of achievement, the shared stories, the laughs... It’s a day that brings people together in a way that really matters 😊
