The smell of sizzling pastry, the buzz of food businesses pitching their goods, and a hall packed with delis, cafes, and farm shops on the lookout 👀 for their next best-seller...
Yep, it can only mean one thing: The Source Trade Show! 🚀
This year, we packed up our tastiest bakes, loaded the ovens, and set up shop at Stand L28 with our sister bakery, Baked to Taste.
Our hub at the very back of the exhibition hall got very busy, and we made sure to make some serious noise (and some serious pastry-fuelled connections)! So, what actually goes down at a trade show like this? And what did we learn from two days of back-to-back pie talk?

What’s The Source Trade Show All About?
Imagine cramming the best food and drink businesses in the South West under one roof, throwing in a ton of ovens, tasting tables, and very eager food buyers… and that’s The Source Trade Show in a nutshell. 🎪✨
For cafes, delis, and other potential stockists, it’s a chance to discover their next big seller.
For us? It’s an opportunity to show off exactly why our pies and pasties deserve a spot on their shelves 😃 And with a line-up that included our much-loved classics and some exciting returning specials, we had plenty to shout about!! 📢
Chunk HQ at Stand L28: A Feast for the Senses!
Let’s talk about our set-up, because if we were going to make a splash, we had to do it properly!!
Our stand was stacked with:
✅ A tasting table with ovens rolling out fresh bakes all day long 🔥
✅ A fridge loaded with pies ready for trade customers to take home ❄️
✅ A product display showcasing our best-sellers in all their golden, flaky glory 🥧✨
✅ A PIE BOUQUET (yes, really) 🌹 but make it pastry!
✅ A board jam-packed with glowing reviews (because let’s be honest, we love a humble brag) 😏
All of this was there to help answer the most important question every stockist wants to know: Why should I be stocking up on Chunk?
(Spoiler: 300+ awards, unbeatable flavour, and the best quality ingredients in every bite)!!🏆
What Was On The Chunk Tasting Menu?
We weren’t just showing up to talk about our bakes - we were there to let people try them for themselves. Here’s what we had sizzling in the ovens:
🔥 The Duckin’ Pie - a returning fan-favourite packed with shredded, marinated duck and stir-fried veg in a hoisin-style sauce. A true festival of flavour! 🦆
🔥 Our Bacon Homity Pie - officially making its comeback this year. If you haven’t tried this cheesy, bacon-y, potato-filled masterpiece yet, what are you even doing? 🧀🥓
🔥 The full Chunk line-up of award-winning pies and pasties - because what’s a trade show without a taste of the real stars of the show? 🌟
The Dream Team: Who Was There?
With a packed couple of days ahead, we rolled in with the A-team:
👊 Holly, Matt, and Kerry from the sales & marketing crew—talking all things Chunk and making sure our pies got the spotlight they deserved.
👊 Chef Mike, Suzi, and Simon from production & co-founder ranks—because nobody knows the ins and outs of Chunk better than the ones making it happen behind the scenes!
And of course, we weren’t the only ones dishing up the good stuff!!
We were in excellent company with some top-notch local food & drink brands, from specialty coffee roasters ☕ to award-winning ice cream makers 🍦 to the finest craft beers and ciders 🍺 Basically, heaven for any food lover! 😍
Feeding a Marketing Conference (Because Pies Make Everything Better)
On top of talking pies non-stop for two days, we also had the honour of keeping a very important crowd well-fed - attendees of the trade show’s marketing conference! Because let’s be honest, no one wants to sit through a talk on branding with a rumbling stomach!
Our answer? A big ol’ batch of our famous pasties, handed out to grateful delegates. Safe to say, we made some new fans that day! 😉
What Did We Learn?
Trade shows like this aren’t just about selling - it’s about connecting with our customers. Seeing first-hand how excited you guys can get about our bakes is always a highlight, and hearing your feedback is invaluable 😄
It's also why we also wanted to share this with YOU! After all, we can't let these businesses have all the fun, can we? 😉
